We produced a sleep apnea diagnostic 3D animation for Itamar Medical’s WatchPAT device – combining precise 3D modeling, live-action footage, and a custom graphic language layered directly over the video. The animation explains how WatchPAT works during home sleep testing, translating a clinically complex process into a clear, compelling visual story for healthcare audiences worldwide. The video was produced as part of a two-piece package that included a companion tutorial video.
Home sleep apnea testing happens in the dark – invisible, personal, and technically complex. The challenge was to show exactly what WatchPAT measures while a patient sleeps, communicating diagnostic depth and clinical value in a way that feels clear and engaging rather than clinical and intimidating. Every graphic element had to earn its place on screen without losing the human story at the centre.
We combined three distinct production techniques into a single, coherent visual language: realistic 3D product modeling, live-action footage of the device in use, and a custom graphic layer designed to highlight the specific metrics WatchPAT captures during sleep. The graphic elements appear dynamically as our subject sleeps – making invisible diagnostic data feel immediate, precise, and visually impressive. The same visual language was applied consistently to the companion tutorial video, so both pieces feel like they belong together.
The WatchPAT animation became a long-serving asset for Itamar Medical – used at trade shows, product launches, and across digital channels in Europe and the USA. Together with the companion tutorial video, it gave the brand a complete, visually consistent communications package that serves both clinical and commercial audiences. A video produced once, still performing years later.
